The Permanent Secretary of the Citizens’ Mediation Bureau (CMB), Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Aderinsola Olanrewaju, accompanied by the Head of Unit, CMB Ibeju-Lekki/Epe, Mrs. Kehinde Iyade, paid a courtesy visit on Tuesday 24th February, 2026 to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa who was ably represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Issa Maruf Olayinka.
During the productive meeting, Mrs. Olanrewaju expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman and the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government for their ongoing support to the CMB’s mediation center in the area. She highlighted the significant progress achieved, noting that numerous dispute cases have been resolved amicably and in full through the center’s efforts. The Permanent Secretary also appealed for continued and expanded support to ensure wider coverage and greater public awareness of the free mediation services available to residents.
In response, Mr. Issa Maruf Olayinka, on behalf of the Executive Chairman, commended the Lagos State Government and the Citizens’ Mediation Bureau for their vital role in promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). He emphasized that the establishment and operations of ADR mechanisms have contributed substantially to reducing legal disputes and court backlogs across the state, fostering peace and harmony in communities.
Mr. Olayinka assured the visiting team that the Executive Chairman would carefully consider all requests and needs presented by the CMB, committing to address them to further strengthen the mediation center’s impact in Ibeju-Lekki.
The meeting underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to accessible, timely, and cost-free justice through mediation, which helps preserve relationships and prevent escalation of civil disputes into litigation or conflict.
The Citizens’ Mediation Bureau (CMB) is a statutory agency under the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, providing free alternative dispute resolution services for civil matters such as family, landlord-tenant, community, commercial, and workplace disputes. Residents can access services via walk-in, referral, court order, petition, telephone, or email.
