IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT HELD PROCUREMENT PROCESS REVIEW FOR YEAR 2026.

Ibeju-Lekki Local Government recently received a team of external Procurement team from the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency for a comprehensive review of its procurement activities for the year 2026.. The Procurement team was led by Engineer Jegede Oluwasola Solomon, alongside Mrs Okoya-Razak Olufunmilola Folashade and Mr. Adekunle Yusuf. The Head of the Procurement Unit, Miss Issa R.T formally welcomed the auditors and introduced members of the management team present, including the Head of Human Resources, Head of Legal, Head of Education, Head of WAPA, Head of Environment, Head of ICT, the Council Treasurer and other principal officers. The review exercise covered procurement records, contract documentation, bidding processes, approvals, payment records and compliance with relevant procurement laws and regulations. The auditors assessed both pre- and post-review thresholds for procurement activities carried out in 2025. While commending the Local Government for its overall performance and cooperation during the exercise, the audit team made observations regarding documentation procedures. These included the need for proper signing of procurement plans by relevant Heads of Departments and Unit, appropriate issuance and filling of Letters of Award, adherence to advertisement and notification requirements and proper record retention in line with statutory provisions. Management team acknowledged the observations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening internal processes, ensuring full compliance with procurement regulations and promoting transparency and accountability in all procurement activities. Ibeju-Lekki Local Government remains dedicated to due process and efficient service delivery to its residents.

CITIZENS’ MEDIATION BUREAU (CMB) STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT TO ENHANCE COMMUNITY DISPUTE RESOLUTION

The Permanent Secretary of the Citizens’ Mediation Bureau (CMB), Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Aderinsola Olanrewaju, accompanied by the Head of Unit, CMB Ibeju-Lekki/Epe, Mrs. Kehinde Iyade, paid a courtesy visit on Tuesday 24th February, 2026 to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa who was ably represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Issa Maruf Olayinka. During the productive meeting, Mrs. Olanrewaju expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman and the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government for their ongoing support to the CMB’s mediation center in the area. She highlighted the significant progress achieved, noting that numerous dispute cases have been resolved amicably and in full through the center’s efforts. The Permanent Secretary also appealed for continued and expanded support to ensure wider coverage and greater public awareness of the free mediation services available to residents. In response, Mr. Issa Maruf Olayinka, on behalf of the Executive Chairman, commended the Lagos State Government and the Citizens’ Mediation Bureau for their vital role in promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). He emphasized that the establishment and operations of ADR mechanisms have contributed substantially to reducing legal disputes and court backlogs across the state, fostering peace and harmony in communities. Mr. Olayinka assured the visiting team that the Executive Chairman would carefully consider all requests and needs presented by the CMB, committing to address them to further strengthen the mediation center’s impact in Ibeju-Lekki. The meeting underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to accessible, timely, and cost-free justice through mediation, which helps preserve relationships and prevent escalation of civil disputes into litigation or conflict. The Citizens’ Mediation Bureau (CMB) is a statutory agency under the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, providing free alternative dispute resolution services for civil matters such as family, landlord-tenant, community, commercial, and workplace disputes. Residents can access services via walk-in, referral, court order, petition, telephone, or email. Also present at the meeting were the Admin and Human Resource Officer, Mr. Sotubo Adeyemi; Mr. Lanre Tobun, Mr. Adewale Adejumo (JP) and State Counsels, Barr. Busayo Adetunji, Barr. Ewaoluwa Kilanko, and Barr. Kayode Odunayo.

Inspection Tour of the Citrus Garden Housing Estate Project

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on 20th February, 2026 conducted an on-site inspection tour of the Citrus Garden Housing Estate project. Accompanied by the Council Manager, Mr. Adekoya, and the Head of the Procurement Unit, Mrs. Issa Raulat, the Executive Chairman assessed the progress of the estate, which is being facilitated by Ibeju-Lekki Local Government in collaboration with private sector partners under a public-private partnership framework. The Citrus Garden Housing Estate represents a key initiative aimed at addressing the housing shortfalls in the rapidly growing Ibeju-Lekki axis. The project features well-designed residential units, modern amenities, and infrastructure that align with the Lagos State Government’s vision for inclusive urban development and improved quality of life at the grassroots level.
