In its effort to prevent flooding this year, the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has commenced the clearing of drainages, primary canals and swampy areas that serves as downstream for collecting drains .
The communities of Araromi and Aiyegbami can now heave a sigh of relief with the commencement of the clearing of the Aiyegbami and Araromi canal. This canal when cleared will enable the flow of water through the Ajah Community secondary collector drain discharges into the Ibeju- Orimedu creek.
The Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa led administration is keen on ensuring a flood-free environment in line with the administration’s Environmental Sustainability Agenda.
