INTRODUCTION OF AUTOMATED/E-TICKETING SYSTEM FOR REVENUE COLLECTION AND ADMINISTRATION

The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Internally Generated Revenue(IGR) has in the last two years taken a positive turn due to measures taken by the present Administration. These measures which included Enumeration for Data collection, Expanding Tax Net and Identification of more Revenue sources  have in no little way contributed to the boost in the Council’s Revenue. It is, however,important to improve the revenue base by introducing a more robust system that reduces the stress of collections and ease the payment process for taxpayers. The  Ibeju-Lekki Revenue Board will be embarking on the Introduction of the AUTOMATED and e-TICKETING System to collect approved rates and levies through partner Agents as intermediaries that will assist the Local Government . Interested Residents of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government are enjoined to watch out for further information on this. IBEJU-LEKKI COUNCIL MAYOR PRESENTS BUDGET OF DEVELOPMENTAL GROWTH, WEALTH CREATION AND FISCAL SUSTAINABILITY TO THE LEGISLATIVE ARM.

In fulfilment of one of the oversight functions of the Legislative Arm of Government, the Ibeju-Lekki Legislative Council under its amiable Legislative Leader, Hon. Mojeed Olayinka Oluwafemi today Friday, 29th December, 2023 received the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa for the official presentation of the Proposed Year 2024 Appropriation Bill. The Year 2024 Budget Estimate tagged: Budget of Developmental Growth, Wealth Creation and Fiscal Sustainability is so christened to further address the economic, social and Infrastructural challenges of the great people of the Council Area. In his address, the Council Mayor, emphasised on the need for his Administration to consolidate and improve on the achievements of his Administration so far. Mayor Olowa took Legislators and Stakeholders through a recap of the year 2023 Budget Performance while he applauded and attributed the success of the outgoing year to the support of everyone with a lot to show for it in every sector covered by the Administration’s four cardinal Agenda. The Mayor, however, hinted on the Budget size of the proposed Year 2024 Appropriation Bill which captured Recurrent, Capital Expenditures and other expected areas put together to address the needs of the people. “To impact renewed energy towards achieving, rebuilding and restoration of the general development of the Council, this Administration is leaving no stone unturned to put Ibeju-Lekki Local Government back on the map and prove its worth as the face of new Lagos “Hon. Olowa reiterated. In his response, the Hon. Leader of the Legislative Council accepted the Budget with a promise to do justice to the budget Estimate and revert appropriately for execution. The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government 3-Day Year 2024 Budget Retreat which commenced on Wednesday,20th December, 2023 finally came to an end on Friday, 22nd December,2023. The proposed appropriation bill,tagged “Budget of Developmental Growth, Wealth Creation and Fiscal Sustainability” captures the yearnings of the people as well as fulfils the developmental agenda of Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa led Administration’s Infrastructural, Empowerment and Social provisions for Communities within the Council Area. The Retreat’s first day paper presentation by the Council’s vibrant Mayor,Hon. Olowa titled ‘Driving Result Through Better Strategy Execution’ is an indication that more is expected in the area of productivity from all the participants that consisted of the Political Class and Technocrats in the coming year leaving participants with reminders to BELIEVE,to develop a positive MINDSET as well as discharge assigned duties with URGENCY to achieve organisational goals through lay down strategies. IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT YEAR 2O24 BUDGET RETREAT KICKS OFF

In order to fulfill the requisites of Budgetary preparations and adequate avenue to deliberate on the preparation of the Year 2024 Budget,the Mayor of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government,Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa today led eligible Officers of the Council on a 3-Day Retreat to discuss and defend the provisionionary allocation of finances into various sectors to transcend to Developmental changes in communities within the Council Area. The Year 2024 Appropriation Bill tagged Budget of Developmental Growth,Fiscal Sustainability and Wealth Creation is an indication that the Hon. Olowa led Administration will continue focus on Infrastructural provisions and empowerment of the people of Ibeju-Lekki in the coming year more than before. The Council Mayor,however, made a paper presentation on ‘Driving Result Through Better Strategic Execution’ to enhance work relationship and synergy between the Political Class and Technocrats while emphasis was laid on achieving favourable sustainable strategies and implementation. The session generated responses from key participants that shed more light on how to address challenges and proffer immediate positive solutions. COMMUNITY DAY CELEBRATIONS: IBEJU-LEKKI LG. MAKE HISTORY AS ARAROMI CDA WINS BEST RURAL COMMUNITY AWARD

History was made on Thursday, 14th December, 2023 at the annual Year 2023 Lagos State Community Day Celebrations with the theme “Community Engagement: A Veritable Tool For Infrastructural Development in Rural Communities”. The annual event, where all Community Development Associations in the State are hosted and rewarded by the Executive Governor of Lagos State,His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs of the State. The occasion where Araromi Community Development Association (CDA) of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government won the Best Rural Community Award and a fourteen seaters bus was presented as prize gift. This achievement was possible because of the Social Responsibility and contribution of residents of Araromi towards the development of their Community to make it habitable. The rare feat can also be attributed to the encouragement and support of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Administration under the leadership of her performing Mayor, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa. The Local Government under Hon. Olowa is seriously engaging and encouraging synergy between the CDC/CDAs in the Council Area for the general growth of the people. The Executive Chairman on behalf of his entire Cabinet Members Congratulated the award winning Araromi CDA Chairman,the Community Development Committee Chairman, Comr. Jabita Adebola, and of course the good people of the Council Area while challenging others to intensify efforts to complement Government’s efforts for future achievements.

It has been observed that the Environmental condition of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government is daily deteriorating due to activities of unscrupulous elements who have turned the streets into dump sites by illegally dumping refuse by Roadsides,Bus Stops and other unauthorised places despite the efforts of Council’s Executive Chairman, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa and his Team to ensure and maintain a cleaner environment through various initiatives. This is to Inform our citizens that the Local Government has embarked on an Environmental Enforcement Exercise to curb this menace. The exercise which Started yesterday with the Demolition of illegal structures and shanties on the set backs of Onasa/Desa road by the Council’s Environmental Health Officers ably led by the Head of Department, SAN Mary Akinola with Security Agents will continue in other areas within the council . Consequently, residents are seriously warned to desist from the act of littering, dumping, defacing, construction of illegal shanties and any form of environmental nuisances in Ibeju-Lekki and its Environs. Be informed that Defaulters will be severely death with and prosecuted according to the stipulated Environmental Laws and Bye Laws of Lagos State Government and Ibeju Lekki Local Governments respectively. EHOAN HONOURS IBEJU-LEKKI HEAD OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, (SAN) AKINOLA MARY OLUSOLAPE.

The Head of Environmental Services Department of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, (SAN) Akinola Mary Olusolape was recently honoured with an Exceptional Leadership Skills Award by the Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN), Lagos State Chapter for her unwavering commitment, positive impact, outstanding and good performance in the discharge of her duties and for upholding the Environmental Profession. The Award which was presented at the Environmental Health Leadership Award ceremony held on Friday, 8th December 2023 at the NUT Pavillion, Ogba Lagos State was organised to recognise and celebrate excellent service delivery in the Environmental Health Profession. The Executive Chairman, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on behalf of the entire Workforce of the Local Government congratulates our (SAN) for this laudable achievement.

IBEJU-LEKKI LG. CONDUCTS NULGE ELECTION AS COMRADE LAWAL EMERGES BRANCH CHAIRMAN

The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Branch Nigerian Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE) on Tuesday, 5th December 2023 conducted the election that will usher in new Executives of the Branch after the expired tenure of the outgoing NULGE Chairman, Comrade Talemu Ahmed. The outgoing Chairman, however seized the avenue to enumerate some of the achievements of his tenure in office which include robust and increase welfare package for Staff from #120,000 to #1,500,000, Facilitating the provision of NULGE Bus, Staff festival period bonuses increased from 5,000 to #15,000, Mainteinance and Daily fuelling of Staff Bus and many more Staff interventions. Comr. Talemu attributed his tenure’s success to the support, cooperation and magnanimity of the Council’s Executive Chairman, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa since he assumed office as he also applauded the Political Office Holders, the Council Manager, Management Members and the entire Ibeju-Lekki Local Government workforce for their unflinching support thus far. The process which was supervised by the State NULGE Executive Representatives like Comr. Sobowale Otutuloro, Comr. Shetima, and Comr. Olabimtan Seyi and others who were presented with seventeen candidates vying for various elective positions in the Ibeju-Lekki NULGE Branch transition. In the keenly contested election, Comrade Liafis Lawal eventually emerged as the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government NULGE Branch Chairman, Comrade Badmus as the Vice Chairman, Comrade Odupe came out as the chapter’s General Secretary, Comrade Timothy-Folajimi Yemisi as the Assistant General Secretary, Comrade Arogundade emerged as the Treasurer Comrade Balogun Bashir as the Auditor, Comrade Alaka Balkis as the Woman Leader, Comrade James as the Branch Trustee while Comrade Hassan Kehinde emerged as the Branch Young Person. The positions of Departmental Representatives was also contested for and the following Officers emerged as the Representatives of their various Departments. Comrade Oshinaike Fatimoh emerged as the Health Department Representative, Comrade Dare as the Representative of the Works and Infrastructure Department, Comrade Rasaq Kabir Alani as the Finance Department Representative, Comrade Ojikutu Nasir as the Education Department. Representative, Comrade Makinde Folashade for the Agriculture and Social Services Department, Comrade Ogunneye Adekunle as the Environmental Services Department Representative, Comrade Omolola Adeleke for the Budget, Planning and Statistics Department, Comrade Olawale also emerged as the Admin and Human Resource Department Representative respectively. The Election was simply a success with new Executive Members advised by NULGE Leaders and others present to work in synergy for the betterment of the the entire Staff of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government. Also present at the venue were Management Members, past NULGE Chairmen/Leaders and the entire Staff of the Council amongst others.

IBEJU-LEKKI NATIONAL IMMUNISATION PLUS DAYS PROGRAMME ROUNDS UP

IBEJU-LEKKI NATIONAL IMMUNISATION PLUS DAYS PROGRAMME ROUNDS UP. In a bid to eradicate Polio in Lagos State and nationwide, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Health Department commenced the second round of National Immunisation Plus Days Public Health campaign in Saturday, 25th to Tuesday 28th, November, 2023. The Polio Immunization Programme entails the vaccination of all 0-5 year old children with the oral novel polio vaccine at targeted venues like Houses, Schools, Religious Centres, Markets and busy areas in Ibeju Lekki and its environs. The Team of Health Workers who earlier started the NIPDS campaign with a motorised rally and awareness on last Saturday also ended each day of the Immunization exercise with a meeting of LGA Health Supervisors and Ward Health focal Supervisors with all activities supervised by the Council’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ososanya Kehinde with the support of the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Sindiku,Tajudeen Oniwonlu at the cold store unit in Iberekodo PHC to review the day’s work . The Health Team have further embarked on a 2-Day mop up exercise starting from today Wednesday, 29th and Thursday, 30th November, 2023 to ensure that all eligible children benefit from the public health Polio Vaccination Programme. It is,therefore, imperative that Ibeju-Lekki Local Government’s Administration under the leadership of its performing Executive Chairman,Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa is committed to ensuring a Polio Virus free environment for children of the Council area in cognisance with earlier support of Lagos State coordinated health programmes and various Council’s health related interventions to improve healthy living. Parents are however, enjoined to submit their children for Immunization in the last 2 days mop-up of the exercise.
