Speaking at the signing ceremony, Hon. Olowa described the development as a deliberate step toward institutionalizing order, accountability and long-term planning within the rapidly expanding Local Government.

He stated that the Encroachment on Road Setbacks Bye-Law will address unauthorized structures obstructing public rights-of-way, enhance road safety, improve aesthetics and preserve access for utilities and emergency services.

The Establishment of the Scholarship Board Bye-Law formally creates a structured framework for educational support, bursaries and grants for qualified beneficiaries, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to education and youth development.

The Market Regulation Bye-Law provides a clear administrative and regulatory structure for approved markets, ensuring improved coordination, trader compliance and sustainable revenue management.

The Road Management Office and Road Users Bye-Law establishes a dedicated framework for managing traffic flow, addressing illegal parking, vehicle breakdown disruptions, and road obstructions caused by heavy duty vehicles and commercial operators.

Under the Okada and Tricycle Regulation and Control Bye-Law, commercial motorcycle and tricycle operations within the Local Government will now be subject to structured registration, compliance requirements and operational guidelines to improve safety and accountability.

The Street Naming Regulation Bye-Law enhances proper identification of streets, avenues and crescents, facilitates digital house numbering, supports urban planning and strengthens revenue documentation systems.

The Proof of Residential Address Bye-Law introduces a standardized verification system for residents, strengthening administrative efficiency, security coordination and public service delivery within Ibeju-Lekki.

Hon. Olowa emphasized that the signing of the bye-laws is not merely legislative formality, but a governance intervention designed to align Ibeju-Lekki with global standards of structured urban development, particularly as the area continues to grow as a strategic economic corridor in Lagos State.

He commended the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Legislative Council for its diligence and collaboration in passing the bye-laws and reiterated his administration’s resolve to ensure effective implementation through relevant departments and units.

With the signing of these seven bye-laws, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government further consolidates its position as a forward-looking council committed to order, development and inclusive growth.
