LAWMA TRAINS IBEJU-LEKKI NEWLY INAUGURATED ENVIRONMENTAL TASKFORCE OFFICERS.
In a bid to ensure a habitable and environmental friendly Council area, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government under the leadership of her dogged Executive Chairman, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa recently inaugurated the Ibeju-Lekki Cleaner Initiative to commemorate his administration’s 100 Days in Office held on Thursday 18th November, 2021 at the Council Secretariat, Igando-Oloja.
In the same vein, under this laudable initiative, and to see to the smooth running of the exercise, the council recruited 200 Street Sweepers, 30 Gardeners and 15 Environmental Taskforce Officers.
Consequently, the Olowa led Administration in conjunction with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has organised a 2-Day Environmental Enforcement training for the recruited officers presently ongoing in the Ibeju-Lekki Council Secretariat.
The Executive Chairman, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa who flagged off the 2-Day training this morning in his remark emphasized on the need for the recruited officers to understand Lagos State Environmental Laws and prohibitions to aid them in the discharge of their delegated responsibilities.
The Council Chairman also enjoined participants to represent Ibeju-Lekki as ambassadors and to work assiduously to achieve an Ibeju-Lekki devoid of environmental nuisances.
Also at the occasion are the Head of Environmental Services Department, SAN. (Mrs) Anjorin Bolanle, LAWMA Representatives, Security Agents and Environmental Health Officers of the Local Government.
