World Tuberculosis Day is observed on 24 March every year as it draws our attention to the fact that, Tuberculosis is a dangerous disease that commonly affects a person’s lungs and spreads to other parts of the body along with blood flow from the lungs, bones, etc. TB remains a significant public health threat which accounts for cases of mortality worldwide. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), tuberculosis is one of the top 10 causes of death globally, with millions affected every year. The observance of World TB Day highlights the urgent need for early diagnosis, effective treatment, and preventive measures. As a government, we will continue to improve on our health care policies to give the citizenry the best while we will continue to engage our communities in sensitization and awareness. We also use this moment to call on citizens to visit the Hospitals for early diagnosis if symptoms are detected while also improving on our hygiene and living conditions by avoiding over crowded areas. As the theme for this year stipulates " Yes we can overcome TB! ", indeed, we shall overcome.
