Today marks the World Cancer Day set aside in solidarity with victims of the disease which is observed on 4th of February every year. World Cancer Day is an important international observance aimed at increasing cancer awareness. While some cancers form due to factors outside of human control, early awareness and lifestyle choices can help reduce cancer risks in our society with more than 40% of these cases and nearly half of the deaths linked to preventable causes. It is important for our people to be aware of this deadly disease. While there is no sure way to prevent cancer, we all can make healthy lifestyle choices that can protect us and limit our risk of cancer. We sympathize with the victims as we pray that, on this World Cancer Day, may strength, hope, and courage guide all those battling cancer toward healing and recovery as we wish strength to the fighters, peace to the survivors, and hope to those still struggling. May this World Cancer Day inspire more awareness, early detection, and groundbreaking treatments to save lives.
