The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, today attended the Opening Ceremony of the Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the Medical Guild Lagos, held at The Zone, Gbagada Expressway, where he served as the Special Guest of Honour. This year’s conference, themed “The No Bed Conundrum and Safe Referral: Exploring an Integrated & Effective Referral System in Lagos,” brought together medical professionals, sector experts and policymakers to address the growing need for coordinated emergency care and efficient referral systems across the state. In his goodwill message, Hon. Olowa emphasized the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders in the health sector. He expressed appreciation to the Medical Guild for its dedication to strengthening healthcare delivery and assured the Guild of the continuous support of Local Governments and LCDAs in Lagos State toward building a more responsive and effective primary healthcare system. He noted that improving communication, fostering workplace awareness among medical personnel and strengthening inter-hospital referral pathways were crucial to improving patient outcomes in rapidly expanding communities. Hon. Olowa’s participation underscored the central role of local government administration in supporting public health initiatives and partnering with healthcare professionals committed to serving Lagos residents.
