South West Geopolitical Zone’s Stakeholders Meeting

The Executive Chairman, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government; Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on Monday 10th March, 2025 attended the South West Geopolitical Zone’s Stakeholders Meeting for the activation and implementation of the Local Government Proof of Address System at Protea Hotel, Ikeja Lagos. The meeting had in attendance the representative of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, SSG of Oyo, Ekiti, Permanent Secretaries from the States of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti and the Local government Chairmen from the Southwest States. The establishment of Proof of Address in Nigeria aims to provide citizens with a reliable means of verifying their residential address crucial for various administrative, financial and legal purposes . Benefits of the Proof of Address System include: Crime reduction, effective planning for infrastructure and social development etc.
