Pan-Atlantic University Students Drive Women’s Economic Empowerment in Ibeju-Lekki

The Ibeju-Lekki Council Secretariat hosted a transformative Women Empowerment Program, meticulously organized by students of Pan-Atlantic University as part of their Community Service Project. This event gathered women from various parts of Ibeju-Lekki for an enriching day filled with learning, creativity, and practical entrepreneurship. The program was crafted to bolster the economic potential of women by equipping them with hands-on skills and contemporary business knowledge. Throughout the sessions, participants were immersed in practical demonstrations, including liquid soap production, where they mastered the step-by-step process of creating a market-ready cleaning product. They were also introduced to branding principles, empowering them to present their products attractively and communicate their value effectively to customers. One of the standout segments was the digital marketing workshop, which provided attendees with the tools to leverage social media and other online platforms to expand their businesses. Participants learned how to create functional email or business pages, manage their online presence, and implement simple yet effective digital strategies to reach broader markets. The session on import and export basics further enriched their understanding, opening their eyes to opportunities beyond the local environment. By the conclusion of the training, many women had developed ready-to-sell product prototypes and gained a clearer vision for building sustainable ventures.
