The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, on Saturday 12th July , 2026 visited flood-affected areas of Araromi Town to assess the extent of the damage and engage directly with residents impacted by the disaster.
Navigating through the flooded community by canoe, the Chairman conducted an on-the-ground assessment of the situation across affected neighborhoods, reaffirming his administration's commitment to responsive and people-focused governance.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Olowa expressed sympathy with families and residents affected by the flooding, assuring them that the Local Government is actively engaging relevant agencies and stakeholders to facilitate immediate intervention and implement sustainable flood control measures.
He emphasized that the safety, welfare, and well-being of residents remain a top priority, adding that necessary steps are being taken to provide relief for affected households while pursuing long-term solutions to reduce the impact of future flooding.
Hon. Olowa also appealed for continued cooperation from residents as the Local Government works with relevant authorities to address the situation and safeguard lives and property.
