OLOWA FEEDS RESIDENTS OF IBEJU-LEKKI VIA OUNJE IBEJU-LEKKI FREE FOOD INITIATIVE

As a government we are intentional with putting smiles on the faces of our people, especially at this yuletide season celebration. These statement is credited to the ibeju-Lekki Local Government Chairman, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa at the commencement of the Ounje ibeju-Lekki Free Food Packs initiative across the seven wards of Ibeju-Lekki Communities held on Friday 20th December, 2024 at Lakowe Secondary School. The event which is scheduled to last for three days will take place in three different locations with ward E and F ward being the first batch, while Ward A and B will take place on sunday, 22nd December, 2024 at ibeju High School at 3:00pm while that of Ward C1, C2, and D is scheduled to hold on Monday, 23rd December, 2024 respectively in iberekodo Primary School at 10:00am prompt. Addressing participants at the event, the Council Mayor described the reason behind the initiative as the need to augment the high cost of food items presently experienced in the Market ahead of the yuletide season. He emphasized that though people might have made provision for food for the yuletide season, the ounje ibeju-Lekki free food packs which comprises of a paint plastic of Rice, Beans and Gari will go a long way to increase their food storage while the season last. Beneficiaries at the event were however filled with appreciation to the helmsman for such a laudable initiative, noting that its the first of its kind since the creation of the Local Government, coming at such a time people are faced with high cost of living and inflation of food items.
