OLOWA CELEBRATES YEAR 2025 CHILDREN'S DAY IN GRAND STYLE

Ibeju- Lekki Local Government under the Leadership of the Executive Chairman, held a colorful Children's Day Celebration at Elemoro Junior Secondary School, ibeju, on Tuesday 27th May, 2025. The annual Children's Day Celebration which was the second of its kind since the inception of the Olowa led administration was witnessed by a large turn out of primary school pupils from sixteen different schools, Junior Secondary Schools and Senior High Schools respectively. The Children, all neatly dressed in thier school uniforms and sparkling clean were treated to danceable Music, as they sing, Celebrates and Dance to electrifying Music that charged the atmosphere at the event. The Nigeria Army live Band were also present to entertain participants and especially the children at the event. The event featured March Parades and Performance from all the participating schools and few groups, alongside cultural dances, and prices and awards were given to the best and outstanding performance at the event. Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Engr) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa noted that the global and annual event serves as a reminder of the responsibilities of government to protect the right of children. He noted that parents, guardiance, educators and communities in line with The Child Rights Act enacted in 2003 by the Federal legislation and adopted by Lagos State Government via The Child Rights Law of 2007 were to comply and enforce, The Children's Rights and advance their welfare. He stated that the administration is very intentional about the welfare of children and has prioritized the well being of the children, who are the future and foundation of a prosperous society. Speaking further, he noted that, the administration since its inception has embarked on developmental projects and initiatives that enhance access to resources that makes learning more engaging and relevant. He affirmed the administration's continue support to qualitative programmes that stimulates creativity, encourage discipline and promotes a balanced development of the children. He expressed profound appreciation to parents and guardians, noting that their supports remains invaluable as the first teacher and greatest role model the children first know. In like manner, he described teachers has nation builders in the classrooms, whose dedication and commitment remains the light that guides these future stars to the path of greatness. Lastly he implored the students to focus on their study, be hardworking, respectful, discipline and embrace determination to achieve their dreams.
