The Lagos State Government, through the Local Government Service Commission, hosted a high-profile Luncheon with the Head of Service alongside Conference 57, in honour of exceptional officers in the Unified Local Government Service today Friday 27th March, 2026. Out of a workforce exceeding 17,000 staff across the state, 112 officers distinguished themselves through a rigorous merit-based selection process. The awardees include 61 Senior Officers and 51 Junior Officers, recognized for their dedication, efficiency, and outstanding contributions to grassroots governance. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa while delivering his remarks, emphasized the need to sustain the Outstanding Staff Award Ceremony as a catalyst for productivity and institutional excellence. He also advocated for enhanced monetary rewards to complement the recognition, noting that motivation remains critical to improved service delivery. The event attracted the body of Permanent Secretaries, key stakeholders across the local government system, including Council Managers, and Council Treasurers, further underscoring the importance of the occasion. The ceremony marks another milestone in Lagos State’s ongoing drive to promote a performance-driven public service and reinforce accountability at the grassroots level.
