In a strategic move to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and intensify the fight against drug-related crimes, the Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ibeju-Lekki Area Command, Commander Garba Simon. Kunkur led a high-powered delegation on a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on 26th January, 2026 The visit, held at the Council Secretariat, aimed to foster stronger ties between the NDLEA and the local government in addressing the growing menace of drug abuse, peddling, and trafficking within the Ibeju-Lekki axis, a rapidly developing area with significant population growth and economic activities. During the interactive session, the NDLEA Commander emphasized the need for grassroots partnership, community intelligence sharing, and local government support in areas such as logistics, public sensitization programs, and youth engagement initiatives to prevent drug proliferation. Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa warmly received the delegation and commended the NDLEA for its relentless efforts in safeguarding the youth and communities from the devastating effects of illicit drugs. The Chairman reaffirmed his administration's commitment to a drug-free Ibeju-Lekki, pledging full support. "The fight against drug abuse is a collective responsibility. My administration stands ready to partner with the NDLEA to protect our future generations and ensure Ibeju-Lekki remains a safe and progressive community", he stated.
