In a significant show of confidence in the leadership and performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, a large number of members from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Labour Party (LP), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have formally decamped to the APC on the 6th February, 2026. The historic reception took place at the Party Secretariat at Iberekodo where the APC Ibeju-Lekki LGA Party Chairman, Hon. Aliasau Eletu warmly welcomed the new members alongside the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Chairman of Conference 57, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa. The decampees, comprising youth leaders, women groups, ward executives, and grassroots supporters, cited the unprecedented developmental strides, inclusive governance, and people-oriented policies of the APC-led administration under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Executive Chairman Hon. Olowa as key reasons for their defection. They expressed strong belief that the APC remains the only platform capable of delivering continued progress, infrastructure, security, and economic opportunities to the people of Ibeju-Lekki. Speaking at the event as he received the decampees on behalf of the State Party Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, the APC Ibeju-Lekki LGA Party Chairman, said: "Today marks a new chapter of unity and strength for our great party in Ibeju-Lekki. We are delighted to receive these committed patriots from ADC, LP, and PDP who have chosen to align with the progressive ideals of APC. Under the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and our own Executive Chairman Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, we are building a greater Ibeju-Lekki. Their defection is a testament to the good work being done and a clear signal that APC is the home for all who seek real development." Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, in his remarks, welcomed the new members and assured them of equal opportunities within the party: "Ibeju-Lekki is moving forward, and we are stronger together.
