Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government on the 19th January, 2026 attended a high powered meeting on the Ibeju Lekki Power Systems Improvement Project at the Ministry of Energy in Alausa. The project which is facilitated by the Lagos State Ministry of Energy is sponsored by FGN POwer Company Limited and supported by Transmission Company of Nigeria , Eko Disco and Ibeju Lekki Local Government . After the meeting , the Executive Chairman joined the team on inspection tour to Ajah Transmission Station where he was conducted round the facility . He later received the team at his office in Igando Oloja before taking them on a final inspection tour to the site of the proposed substation at Eleko Junction. Upon completion , the project will deliver a 132/33KV Injection Substation from Ajah to Eleko via a dedicated line in its first phase . A 132/33kV substation is a key electrical facility that receives power at 132 kilovolts (kV) from the transmission grid and steps it down to 33kV, the voltage required for regional distribution to communities and cities. Its deployment will significantly improve power capacity, stabilize electricity supply, and reconnect long neglected communities in Ibeju Lekki to the national grid , bringing light where darkness has persisted for far too long. To the people of Ibeju-Lekki, this is your moment. The long wait is giving way to decisive action. The hope that once seemed distant is now real and visible. With stable electricity, livelihoods will improve, businesses will thrive, education and healthcare services will be strengthened, and the overall quality of life across our communities will rise. Under the purposeful leadership of Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, and through strong collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Energy TCN, FGN Power, EKEDC, Ibeju-Lekki is taking a bold and irreversible step into a brighter future. The Chairman wish to express sincere appreciation to His Excellency , President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and His Excellency Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for their firm commitment to this project. He wish to also thank the Hon Commissioner , Mr Biodun Ogunleye and his team , Special Adviser to Mr Governor on Mineral Resources , Engineer Abiola Olowu for his relentless efforts and all our leaders for their immense support . #RenewedHope #IbejuLekki #PowerRestoration #132_33kVSubstation #LightForOurCommunities #GrassrootsDevelopment
