HON. OLOWA ATTENDS STAKEHOLDERS' MEETING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW TOWNS IN ODE-OMI, ISE-IGBOGUN, AND ENVIRONS. The Lagos State New Towns Development Authority (NTDA) convened a pivotal stakeholders' meeting today at the elegant Jubilee Chalet in Epe, with the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa in attendance, marking a significant milestone in the state's ongoing commitment to sustainable urban expansion and equitable development. The forum, centered on the strategic development of new towns in Ode-Omi, Ise-Igbogun, and surrounding communities, brought together key government officials, legislative representatives, local leaders, and traditional royal fathers to chart a collaborative path forward for these underserved areas. Speaking at the occasion, the General Manager, New Town Development Authority, Tpl. Olakunle Aboyeji stated that the proposed developmental plan will encompass the proposed State Refinery site, proposed Steel plant and other major pending development. The meeting underscored the importance of inclusive planning, with discussions focusing on integrating local needs into broader development schemes. Key themes included road network enhancements, housing provisions, utility access, and employment generation, all while avoiding past pitfalls in urban expansion projects. Stakeholders emphasized leveraging the peaceful disposition of Epe and Ibeju-Lekki communities to ensure seamless implementation, with calls for excise privileges and priority hiring for indigenes to foster a true sense of ownership.
