The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on 1st July, 2026 addressed participants at the second and final day of the SME Capacity Building and Entrepreneurship Development Workshop, where he highlighted the critical role of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth and creating sustainable livelihoods.
The two-day workshop, organised through the longstanding partnership between Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Pan-Atlantic University, equipped entrepreneurs, artisans and small business owners with practical knowledge in financial management, digital marketing, business growth, customer engagement and enterprise sustainability.
Addressing participants, Hon. Olowa described the initiative as a reflection of the Local Economic Development pillar of the administration's SHIEELD Agenda, noting that sustainable economic growth can only be achieved by investing in the capacity of local entrepreneurs. He expressed profound appreciation to Pan-Atlantic University for its unwavering support and enduring partnership with the Local Government, acknowledging the institution's consistent commitment to empowering residents through quality training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Beyond the classroom sessions, participants also took part in a bonding session that encouraged networking, collaboration and the exchange of business experiences, further enriching the learning experience and fostering relationships among local entrepreneurs.
Speaking after the workshop, Mr. Albert described the programme as an eye-opening experience, particularly the session on digital marketing. He said it broadened his understanding of how digital platforms can help businesses reach more customers, increase visibility and drive business growth. He also commended the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Pan-Atlantic University for organising the impactful initiative.
