IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT YEAR 2022 BUDGET RETREAT. The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government 2- Day Year 2022 Budget Retreat tagged "Budget of Sustainability and Economic Development" which started yesterday ended today amidst promises of better budgetary allocations to projects and programmes that will be beneficial to the masses. The retreat saw Departmental/Unit Heads vigorously defending the budget allocated to their sectors for the provision of developmental programmes and projects. A renowned retired Auditor and former Council Treasurer, Dr. Olusoga Badejo was invited to take the participants through the audit and budgetary process to aid in the implementation of the year 2022 appropriation bill. The Executive Chairman who declared the retreat open on Thursday 16th December 2022 reiterated his commitment to ensure due process is followed to achieve targeted goals to improve the Council area Developmentally, Socially and Economically with particular emphasis on adequate generation of Internally Generated Revenue to further boost the stance of the Local Government with no recourse to monthly allocation from the State. The Council Mayor however, emphasized on the need for political office holders and technocrats to work together in the interest of the people they serve and to reposition the Local Government as one of the best council area within the State. The vote of thanks was the given by the HOD Budget, Planning and Statistics who is the organiser of the annual programme.
