The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on 9th January, 2026 received a high-powered delegation from the Sahara Group Foundation, led by the Programs Manager, Mrs. Folashade Adebanjo, at the Council Secretariat. The courtesy visit provided a valuable platform for both parties to engage in productive discussions on the proposed launch date and operational details of a new Sahara Recycling Hub in the Ibeju-Lekki area. This innovative facility will enable residents to exchange recyclable waste materials such as plastics, paper, and other reusables for cash rewards, promoting environmental sustainability while creating economic opportunities for households and communities. Hon. Olowa expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its alignment with the administration's commitment to a cleaner, greener, and more prosperous Ibeju-Lekki. He commended the Sahara Group Foundation for its ongoing efforts in expanding the Recycling initiative across Lagos State, noting that the hub will empower residents to turn waste into wealth and contribute to a circular economy. Mrs. Folashade Adebanjo, on behalf of the delegation, thanked the Chairman for his warm reception and reiterated the Foundation's dedication to collaborating with Ibeju-Lekki LG to drive impactful, community-driven sustainability projects.
