As part of sustained efforts to strengthen community security and safeguard lives and property across Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, the administration of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has commenced the recruitment process for personnel into the Community Security and Intelligence Network (CSIN).

Speaking during the orientation exercise held on 30th June, 2026 on behalf of the Executive Chairman, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, charged the prospective recruits to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, discipline and utmost commitment.

Hon. Adebanjo noted that with the growing security concerns across communities, proactiveness must remain their guiding principle. He urged the recruits to be vigilant and observant within their respective wards, stressing that security is everyone's responsibility.

"If you see something, say something," he emphasized, adding that timely and credible information remains one of the most effective tools in combating crime.

The SLG further reminded the recruits that many of them were recommended by respected traditional rulers and community leaders who have confidence in their character and integrity. He therefore admonished them not to betray the trust reposed in them but to justify the confidence placed in them through exemplary conduct and dedicated service.

Also addressing the gathering, the Special Adviser to the Chairman on Security, Mr. Adebanjo Shakiru, disclosed that the recruitment process would include a comprehensive background screening to ascertain the suitability of all applicants. He stressed that anyone found to have a criminal record would be disqualified from the exercise and handed over to the appropriate security agencies for necessary action.

In his remarks, the Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan, emphasized the importance of synergy among all departments of the Local Government. He appealed to the prospective CSIN personnel to work closely with the Department of Environment upon their eventual engagement, noting that effective security and environmental sanitation are mutually reinforcing in promoting safer and healthier communities.

The orientation exercise reflects the unwavering commitment of the Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa-led administration to enhancing grassroots security through community participation, intelligence gathering and strategic collaboration with relevant stakeholders, all in pursuit of a safer and more secure Ibeju-Lekki.
