22/05/2026 The financial lifeblood of grassroots administration, enabling councils to provide essential amenities, maintain local infrastructure, and stimulate economic growth is revenue generation. On this note, Revenue and Market Officers of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, led by the Supervisor, Hon. Ahmed Ajibola Elemoro, today embarked on a comprehensive sensitization exercise across various ram markets within the Council Area to enlighten traders and sellers on the importance of remitting statutory revenues into government coffers. Despite the heavy downpour experienced during the exercise, the officers remained committed and painstakingly traversed all designated markets across the Local Government Area to ensure that traders were adequately informed on their civic responsibilities and the benefits of prompt revenue compliance. Speaking during the sensitization tour, Hon. Ahmed Ajibola Elemoro emphasized that revenue generation remains a vital component in sustaining developmental projects and improving service delivery within the local government. He urged market stakeholders and traders to cooperate with government officials by making their payments through approved channels, stressing that such contributions directly support infrastructural development and community welfare. The exercise further reflects the unwavering commitment and seriousness of the administration of the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, towards ensuring that all revenues due to the government are properly accounted for and remitted accordingly. The council administration reassured residents and business owners of its continued dedication to transparency, accountability, and the implementation of policies that will foster sustainable growth and development across the local government area.
