IBEJU-LEKKI LG RECEIVES NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SECURITY STUDIES (NISS) ABUJA

Participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course-18 of the Institute of Security Studies , NISS Abuja held a stakeholders meeting in collaboration with Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and supported by the Lagos State Government on April 30, 2025 at the Local Government Secretariat. The theme of the meeting was: Non State actors in Security Management - Issues , Challenges, prospects , Peace and Development in Africa. In his welcome address , the Executive Chairman thanked the Nigerian Institute of Security Studies and the Lagos State Government for choosing ibeju-Lekki as one of the local government for the stakeholders engagement. He informed the participants about the strategic place of Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos State, Nigeria and Africa and the impact of the critical non state actors on its local economy and security. Some of the key non state actors include the Dangote Refinery, Lekki Deep Seaport and many indigenous communities. Leader of the delegation, Mrs. Foluke Olayemi Arigbede, FSIT who is also the Director, coordination and liaison service, led the Question and Answer session as the Executive Chairman was able to throw light on so many issues raised by the participants. Professor Ibrahim, one of the participants thanked the Executive Chairman and his entire team for the warm reception accorded to them during this study tour to Ibeju-Lekki. The NISS, Abuja is a foremost security training institute in Nigeria. The Institute prepares high-level security intelligence professionals across Africa as well as senior level managers for critical roles in the sustenance of National Security. Present at the stakeholders meeting were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji and the entire cabinet members, Management team of the Local Government, Security agencies, Community elders and the Women representatives.
