The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, on Saturday 16th May, 2026 was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo at the 10th Anniversary of the Africa Political Summit and Africa Democracy Awards. The prestigious event brought together distinguished political leaders, policymakers, stakeholders, and advocates of democratic governance from across the continent to celebrate democratic progress, visionary leadership, and sustainable development in Africa. Also in attendance at the event was Hon. Tunde Rahman, Special Adviser to the President, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose presence underscored the significance of the summit in promoting democratic ideals and strengthening governance across Africa. Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo commended the organizers of the summit for sustaining a platform that encourages political engagement, democratic consolidation, and good governance on the African continent over the past decade. He further reaffirmed the commitment of the administration of Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa to grassroots development, participatory governance, and policies that continue to improve the welfare of residents in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government. The summit featured discussions on leadership, governance, youth inclusion in politics, economic transformation, and the future of democracy in Africa, while notable individuals and institutions were recognized for their contributions to democratic growth and societal development. The delegation also visited Hon Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Special envoy and presidential adviser on Interfaith and Ecumenical relations at the presidential villa also known as the jubilee house.
