As part of efforts in ensuring peace and security by the Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa led administration, the Supervisor for Markets and Revenue in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Ahmed Ajibola Elemoro on 3rd June, 2026 held a crucial meeting with the heads of tricycle (Keke) and motorcycle (Okada) riders' associations to address the prevailing security situation in the area.
During the meeting, several resolutions were reached to enhance security and bring order to operations. These include:
Introduction of a standardized means of identification for all operators
Establishment of clear operational procedures
Restriction of Okada (motorcycle) operations to close by 10:00pm
Hon. Elemoro emphasized the importance of cooperation between the operators and the Local Government to ensure the safety of residents and riders alike.
The Supervisor also announced that a larger stakeholders' meeting will soon be convened with all unit coordinators of Okada and Tricycle operators to further deliberate on these resolutions and strengthen implementation strategies.
