IBEJU-LEKKI LG HOLDS SECURITY MEETING WITH HOTELIERS, CHARGES THEM ON ENHANCED SECURITY MEASURES

The Secretary to the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, today Thursday 26th March, 2026 chaired a crucial security meeting with hoteliers operating within the Council Area. In his opening remarks, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo welcomed the hoteliers and stressed the critical need for heightened vigilance in the hospitality sector. He charged the hotel operators to take security matters very seriously and adopt proactive measures to safeguard lives and property. The Secretary to the Local Government specifically directed the hoteliers to: Always verify the full details of clients who come to lodge in their facilities. Ensure the installation and proper functioning of CCTV cameras in strategic areas of their premises. Closely monitor guests, particularly those requesting rooms, for any suspicious behaviour. Representatives of various security agencies were in attendance to provide expert guidance. The Nigerian Army delegation was led by Lt. Col. S.T. Enye, alongside officers from the Department of State Services (DSS) and other sister security agencies. They shared practical security tips and urged hotel management to remain security conscious and alert at all times. In their responses, the hoteliers acknowledged the importance of the directives and briefed the meeting on measures they have already been implementing, including diligent profiling of every client that books rooms in their facilities. They assured the Council leadership and security of continued cooperation while also notifying them in the case of any suspicions.
