IBEJU-LEKKI HOLDS VALEDICTORY SERVICE FOR 9TH LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

The 9th Legislative Council held its Valedictory Service with the theme A LEGACY OF SERVICE: CELEBRATING DEDICATION AND PROGRESS as the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa together with his Vice, Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, were in attendance while special dignitaries from all walks of life also graced the farewell occasion. In his speech, the Executive Chairman expressed his happiness and gratitude as it marked the celebration of the collective commitment of the members of the hallowed chambers. The Mayor also acknowledged their commitment to public service which has been a guiding light bringing diligence which has made the Council to fulfill its duties. Furthermore, Hon. Olowa charged the members to be steadfast in commitment and accountability as well as community engagement. He also congratulated the outgoing members for leaving behind a legacy worthy of emulation as their wealth of experience is still needed as he wished them well in their future endeavours. "Together we are stronger, let us depart from this Valedictory service with renewed hope looking forward to the best in future," he said. Hon. Mojeed Olayinka, the Leader of the 9th Legislative Council in his address appreciated the Council boss for the smooth Executive-Legislative relationship which has enabled the house to deliver on its promises to the good people of Ibeju-Lekki as a significant number of bills have been passed addressing critical issues. He used the moment to appreciate all sectors and the Civil workforce that have helped in ensuring a smooth flow of their assignment handed over to them by members of their constituents. Other members in their testimonies, also used the moment to recall the good times shared together as they all agreed that, they had the best of moment under the current administration. A minute of silence was observed in honour of Hon. Sulaimon of blessed memory representing Ward C1 who passed away some years ago as they prayed for the repose of his soul. Nurudeen Babatunde Ogungbo - Hon. Higara Olamilekan Al-Mubaraq Other dignitaries that attended the valedictory service are, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo and other Supervisors, the APC Woman Leader, Alhaja Mobi Raji, Members of the Ibeju-Lekki People's Forum led by Comrade Jamiu Mohammed Adekoya and Tolut Ogunbiyi Pataki, Members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria led by Comrade Yusuf Bello, National Association of Ibeju-Lekki Students (NAILS) led by Comrade Mopelola Hadiza Odubote amongst other dignitaries.
