On Sunday February 8,2026, history was made at Jata Event Centre&Resort,in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, when the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa was presented with the Starlight Man of the Year Award, while some outstanding personalities, including,the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Adetokunbo Mukhail Abiru;the Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission,Barr (Mrs.) Olayinka Saidat Oladunjoye; the Lawmaker representing, Ibeju -Lekki Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly,Hon. Oladele Ajayi(OLADBABA);Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, HRM Oba Babatunde Olaogun Ogunlaja (JP); the Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area ( LCDA),Hon. Rasak Bamidele Kasali (RBK); The Vice-President, Board of Public Administrators in Nigeria,the Chairman, Council Managers' Forum in Lagos State and the new Council Manager, Bariga LCDA, Amb. /Otunba Olayiwola Adedoyin Giwa; the Coordinator, Kayo-kayo Festival Committee in Epe Kingdom,Barr. Adebayo Saliu-Okulu; the President Oke Balogun Descendants Association,Epe, Alhaji Kola T.A. Seriki; Community Leader,High-Chief Alaba Jimoh Quadry; amongst others; were also honoured with outstanding personalities Awards. Other Awardees of the day, included, HRM Oba Olayemi Lukman Arowolo of Araromi, Ibeju -Lekki;the Commanding Officer,Epe Military Cantonment,Lt.Col. S.T. Enye; Council Treasure,Ifako- Ijaiye Local Government, Alhaji Rasak Osunsan FCA;Dr. Bakare Isiaka Adeyinka (BIA); Olori Arike Abiola Iyunade Adebowale;Baale Iraye Community, Chief Moshood Odusegun Anwoju;the Olori Ebi General ,Igbooye Kingdom,Otunba A.I Musa-Adebamowo; Council Manager,Kosofe LG, Mosunmola Olubowale Otaiku-Okoka; Immediate Past Supervisor for Education,Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Temitope Sofwan Ogungbo;Information Officer,Hon. Timothy -Folajimi Yemisi Tanwa; amongst others. While speaking on his award, Outstanding Community Builder, Alhaji Kola Seriki, commended The organiser of the award,and urged everyone to continue with whatever good work he is doing;noting that ,there is somebody somewhere taking note.He dedicated the award to the people of Oke Balogun Community, praising them for continuously contributing their hard earned resources towards the development of the community and her people. He noted that, through the association,youths engagement and empowerment, Support for widows and empowerment of Artisans , amongst others had been carried out. The Organiser of the award,the Publisher, Starlight Newspaper/Celebrity Magazine,Mr. Damola Aderibigbe ,pointed out that,the award is organised annually to celebrate and encourage those who have contributed to the community development and humanity in one way or the other. He said,the recognition being given to those who are doing well,will encourage those who are not ,to start taking steps towards that direction. He later appreciated everyone who contributed to the success of this year's edition.
