The Supervisor for Market and Revenue, Hon. Ahmed Ajibola Elemoro on 5th June, 2026 held a strategic meeting with the chairmen of Tricycle, Motorcycle (Okada), and National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) units across Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.
The meeting was convened to convey important directives and messages from the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, aimed at enhancing security, proper identification of operators, and improving revenue generation within the local government area.
Among the key issues discussed were:
All unit chairmen are to properly identify and document all motorcycle (Okada) operators within their respective units.
No Okada operator is permitted to operate beyond 10:00 p.m. in line with security measures adopted by the local government.
The use of officially approved aprons by operators in various units is mandatory and will serve as a means of identification.
Possession of a valid National Identification Number (NIN) is compulsory for all operators.
Foreign nationals engaged in commercial transportation activities are required to visit the Immigration Office at the Local Government Secretariat for proper profiling and documentation.
Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Ahmed Ajibola Elemoro emphasized the critical role of revenue generation as the driving force behind government development and prosperity. He appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate with the administration in ensuring compliance with government policies and regulations for the collective progress of Ibeju-Lekki.
The Supervisor further reiterated the commitment of the Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa-led administration to maintaining security, promoting accountability, and delivering sustainable development across the local government.
In their responses, the unit chairmen and participants expressed their appreciation for the engagement and unanimously pledged their full cooperation and support for the policies and developmental agenda of the Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa administration.
