HON. OLOWA INSPECTS FLOOD-HIT COMMUNITIES, VOWS SWIFT ACTION

Following growing concerns over flooding linked to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road construction, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, on Sunday July 20, 2025, visited Iberekodo, Museyo, and Eleko for a first-hand assessment of the affected areas. During the visit, Hon. Olowa engaged with residents, listened to their concerns, and assured them of the Council’s readiness to intervene. He promised to follow up with the Federal Ministry of Works through the office of the Hon Minister and the Federal Controller of works in Lagos State . The root cause of the flooding is the blockage caused by the Lagos Calabar Coastal Road . The Contractor should construct drainage channels through which water can drain into the swamp. He also promised to provide relief materials for the affected communities.
