HON. OLOWA HOSTS EKOSHA TOWN HALL MEETING AS BENEFICIARIES TESTIFY ON THE TRANSFORMATIVE IMPACT OF THE SCHEME

The Eko Social Health Alliance (EKOSHA) on 22nd January, 2026 successfully convened a vibrant Town Hall Meeting at the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Secretariat, bringing together residents of Epe Division, community leaders, healthcare providers, and officials to celebrate progress and share real-life experiences under the scheme. The event, hosted in collaboration with the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) and Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, featured heartfelt testimonies from beneficiaries who highlighted how EKOSHA through the Ilera Eko health insurance platform has dramatically improved access to quality healthcare, reduced financial burdens, and restored hope for vulnerable families in the area. Welcoming the participants, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. While appraising the Permanent Secretary, Dr (Mrs.) Emmanuella Zamba who he described as an Amazon, he reaffirmed his administration's ongoing partnership with LASHMA. He highlighted previous milestones, such as sponsoring 1,000 residents under EKOSHA, and stressed the scheme's role in complementing local development efforts in this dynamic axis of Lagos. Beneficiaries shared inspiring stories during the interactive session: One resident from a rural community in Ibeju-Lekki recounted how EKOSHA coverage enabled timely medical treatment for a chronic illness without incurring crippling out-of-pocket expenses, describing it as a "lifesaver" for their family. A mother expressed gratitude for free consultations, medications, and hospital admissions that supported her child's health needs, noting that prior to enrollment, fear of costs often delayed seeking care.
