HON. OLOWA CHARGES YOUTH TO REMAIN FOCUSED, DISCIPLINED, HAILS NYCN IBEJU-LEKKI CHAPTER

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on Friday 3rd April, 2026 commended the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ibeju-Lekki Chapter, for its unwavering commitment to youth development, describing the body as one that creates consciousness and leads by example with unmatched passion. Hon. Olowa made this remark while serving as a Special Guest at a high-level programme organised by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ibeju-Lekki Chapter, with the theme “Inspiration and Innovation.” Speaking on the topic “Building a Viable Youth,” the Executive Chairman praised the leadership of the NYCN Ibeju-Lekki Chapter for their dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders. “NYCN is a body truly involved in youth development with a passion which is second to none. They create consciousness and lead by example,” Hon. Olowa stated. The Executive Chairman also highlighted his administration’s deliberate efforts towards building a viable youth population through various skill acquisition programmes and youth empowerment schemes. He assured the gathering that more impactful initiatives are still in the pipeline and will be unveiled in due course. “In sports, we have identified talents and have been rewarding them diligently. As a local government, we are committed to nurturing identified talents to greatness,” he added. Hon. Olowa further charged the youths to develop programmes that identify talents, noting that government will provide the necessary support to help them reach their full potential. He urged the young people present to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to noble ideals, emphasising that these virtues are essential for personal and community development. The programme, which attracted a large number of youths from across Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, provided a platform for meaningful engagement on youth empowerment, innovation, and sustainable development. Also present at the program were, the Supervisor for Education, Hon. Sodiq Olajide Agbaje, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Mr. Maruf Olayinka Issa, the CDC Chairman, Comrade Jabita Adeboye and the Technical Adviser to the Chairman, Mr. Oladimeji Ibrahim.
