HON. OLOWA ATTENDS COMBINED 2025 WEST AFRICAN SOCIAL ACTIVITIES (WASA) AT THE NIGERIAN ARMY CANTONMENT, EPE

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, proudly participated in the Combined 2025 West African Social Activities (WASA) organized by units of the Nigerian Army at the Cantonment in Epe, Lagos State on 24th January, 2026 The annual WASA tradition, rooted in the historic West African Frontier Force and upheld by the Nigerian Army, serves as a vibrant platform to celebrate unity, regimental spirit, cultural heritage, and the collective achievements of officers, soldiers, and their families. It marks the culmination of the year's operational and training activities while fostering camaraderie between the military and civilian communities. During the event, which featured colorful cultural displays, traditional cuisines and attire, performances, awards to outstanding personnel, comedy sketches, tug-of-war competitions, and the lighting of a bonfire to signify the close of WASA 2025, *Hon. Olowa* joined other distinguished guests, including government officials, community leaders, and representatives from security agencies. In a personal statement, the Chairman of Conference 57 League of Chairmen commended the Nigerian Army for its unwavering dedication to maintaining peace, security, and stability in Lagos State and across the nation. He highlighted the importance of civil-military cooperation in addressing security challenges and supporting national development. "The Nigerian Army's professionalism, sacrifices, and role in safeguarding our communities inspire us all, he said. The attendance underscores Hon. Olowa's continued engagement with security institutions and his advocacy for initiatives that empower youth through structured opportunities, such as military recruitment drives, which he has actively supported in recent times.
