In a significant move to strengthen engagement with the youth population, Hon. Hakeem Oluwole Balogun, Supervisor for Youths and Sports Development in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area on Monday 30th March, 2026 convened a cordial meeting with youth representatives drawn from various communities across the council area.The meeting provided a platform for open and sincere dialogue, allowing the youths to share their concerns, aspirations, and ideas directly with the supervisor. Hon. Balogun, who represented the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, used the occasion to reaffirm the chairman’s unwavering commitment to youth development and empowerment. Speaking passionately during the interactive session, Hon. Balogun assured the youth representatives of Hon. Olowa’s comprehensive plans for the youths of Ibeju-Lekki. These initiatives are designed to harness the energy, creativity, and potential of young people through targeted Programs. He emphasized that the administration views the youth as critical partners in driving sustainable progress and transforming the local government area. In addition, Hon. Balogun charged the youth representatives to take personal responsibility for ensuring that eligible youths in their respective communities obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs). He stressed the importance of voter registration and participation in the democratic process, urging them to mobilize their peers who are yet to collect or register for their PVCs ahead of future elections. The meeting ended on a positive note, with the youth representatives expressing appreciation for the open-door policy of the Olowa administration and pledging their support and cooperation towards the successful implementation of youth-focused programmes.
