HON. (ENGR.) ABDULLAHI SESAN OLOWA POWERS OKEGUN COMMUNITIES WITH RESTORED ELECTRICITY

In a significant milestone for grassroots development and reliable infrastructure, the administration of Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area on Tuesday 10th March, 2026 has successfully restored power supply to the communities of Okegun-Odofin, Okegun-Eleku, Okegun-Baale, Okegun-School, and Madagbayun. This achievement follows the rehabilitation and commissioning of the long-vandalized 33KV power line, bringing an end to prolonged outages that had affected households, businesses, and daily life in these areas and beyond. It will be recalled that on December 30, 2025, the Executive Chairman personally assured residents during an on-the-spot inspection and community engagement that the damaged 33KV overhead line would be urgently rehabilitated and power restored without delay. True to his word and commitment, the current administration has now delivered regular and stable electricity to these communities, courtesy of coordinated efforts, contractor mobilization, and unwavering focus on infrastructure renewal. The restoration marks a major relief for residents who can now enjoy improved quality of life, enhanced economic activities for small businesses, better security through street lighting, and support for essential services such as healthcare and education. The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government thanks the Lagos State Government, relevant agencies, contractors, community leaders, and residents for their patience, support, and collaboration throughout the process. Adewale Adebanjo, Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Mrs. Abisola Raola Azeez and the Supervisor for Education, Hon. Sodiq Agbaje.
