HON. (ENGR.) ABDULLAHI SESAN OLOWA HOSTS INSPIRING RAMADAN LECTURE, CALLS FOR PRAYERS AND RENEWED COMMITMENT TO GOOD GOVERNANCE

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, today Saturday 14th March, 2026 hosted a thought-provoking Ramadan Lecture Series, delivering an awakening message to residents during this sacred period of reflection and spiritual renewal. In his welcome address, Hon. Olowa described the lecture series as a timely awakening call in the current times, emphasizing the importance of faith, unity, and moral guidance amid Nigeria's ongoing journey toward progress and prosperity. He expressed deep appreciation to the esteemed clerics and participants for honoring the invitation and gracing the occasion with their presence. The Chairman used the opportunity to call for prayers for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. He prayed for divine wisdom, good health, and continued success in their leadership roles for the benefit of the nation and the state. Hon. Olowa also reassured the people of Ibeju-Lekki that with the recent resumption of duties by the newly sworn-in supervisory councilors, residents would witness accelerated development and more visible impacts of good governance at the grassroots level. The highlight of the event was the enlightening lecture delivered by the guest speaker, Maulana Alhaji Abdulhakeem Soliu Oluwatosin, titled "Democracy and Good Governance in Islam." The respected scholar charged all political office holders, elected and appointed, to steadfastly uphold the core Islamic tenets of accountability, transparency, justice, and selfless service to the people. He stressed that true leadership mirrors the prophetic model of integrity and responsibility toward constituents. Adding to the spirit of Ramadan generosity and communal solidarity, the Renewed Hope Agenda Ambassadors, led by its Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Coordinator, Hon. Adewale Raheem Kazeem, distributed food packs to attendees and vulnerable community members. This initiative underscored the Renewed Hope Agenda's focus on supporting citizens during the holy month and aligning with national efforts to foster hope and shared prosperity. The event brought together community leaders, religious scholars, political stakeholders, and residents in a display of harmony, faith, and commitment to collective progress.
