In a continued demonstration of his commitment to grassroots empowerment, democratic participation, and ensuring every eligible resident has a voice in Nigeria's electoral process, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on 14th January, 2026 convened a strategic engagement session with traditional rulers across the local government area. The meeting which held at the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Secretariat, focused on the urgent need for widespread registration and collection of Permanent Voter's Cards (PVCs) ahead of upcoming elections. Hon. Olowa emphasized that active voter registration is a foundational step toward strengthening democracy, promoting good governance, and ensuring that the voices of Ibeju-Lekki residents are heard at all levels of government. Hon. Olowa also commended the stakeholders for their ongoing support in various initiatives, including security enhancements, conditional cash transfers, and community development programs, and urged them to extend similar collaboration to this voter registration drive. The traditional rulers led by Chairman Baales in Council, Chief Adekunle Taiwo, expressed appreciation for the Chairman's proactive approach and pledged their full support. They committed to organizing sensitization programs, leveraging town hall meetings, religious gatherings, and community associations to drive registration.
