In a landmark demonstration of commitment to staff welfare and grassroots development, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on 30th January, 2026 presented a new staff bus to the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ibeju-Lekki Branch, while also donating a dedicated vehicle to the Community Development Committee (CDC). The presentation ceremony, which held at the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Secretariat, was attended by NULGE branch executives, CDC representatives from various zones, council staff, community leaders, and other stakeholders. The initiative addresses long-standing transportation challenges faced by local government workers and strengthens collaborative ties with community structures. Speaking at the event, Hon. Olowa emphasized that investing in human capital and community partnerships is central to his administration's agenda of inclusive governance and sustainable progress in Ibeju-Lekki. "This staff bus is more than just a vehicle, it's a symbol of our unwavering dedication to the welfare of our hardworking workforce," Hon. Olowa stated. "By easing commuting burdens, we enable our employees to focus on delivering efficient services to the people. Similarly, the donation to the CDC will empower community leaders to better coordinate development efforts, foster unity across zones, and support our shared vision for a more prosperous Ibeju-Lekki." The NULGE Branch Chairman, Comrade Liafis Adaranijo, commended the chairman's gesture, noting it builds on previous welfare enhancements under the administration, such as increased staff imprest and other motivational packages. "This timely intervention will greatly improve punctuality, productivity, and morale among our members," the chairman remarked. Representatives from the CDC represented by its Chairman, Comrade Adeboye Jabita expressed profound gratitude, highlighting how the vehicle will facilitate meetings, outreach programs, and monitoring of community projects across Zones A to G. This presentation aligns with Hon. Olowa's broader reforms, which prioritize worker motivation, infrastructure improvement, and active stakeholder engagement to drive local development amid Lagos State's rapid growth.
