IBEJU-LEKKI COUNCIL CHAIRMAN FLAGS OFF DOOR-TO-DOOR POLIO IMMUNIZATION DRIVE TO SAFEGUARD COMMUNITY HEALTH

In a decisive step toward eradicating the variant polio virus type 2 (cVPV2) and protecting the most vulnerable members of society, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa today, flagged off a comprehensive household-to-household polio immunization campaign. This initiative aims to reach every child under five years old in the Local Government ensuring zero tolerance for vaccine-preventable diseases amid ongoing global efforts to interrupt poliovirus transmission. The flag-off ceremony, kicked off at Orimedu community which brought together health workers, community leaders, traditional rulers, religious figures, and residents to underscore the collective responsibility in building a polio-free future.
