The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, who also doubles as the Chairman of Conference 57, had the distinct honour of joining the Honourable Commissioner for Energy, Lagos State, at a strategic session with the National Energy Masterplan Implementation Committee led by its Co-Chair, Dr. Nurudeen of the Energy Commission of Nigeria. The meeting also had in attendance representatives of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and the management of Energy China, the investors driving this initiative. The discussion focused on the Federal Government’s directive to deliver at least 100 megawatts of electricity to Lagos State through an upgraded solar power solution. It is indeed heartwarming to note that Ibeju-Lekki has been penciled down as one of the beneficiary local governments for this landmark energy project. After the session, the delegation proceeded to inspect the proposed power station sites in Ibeju-Lekki. The visit was led by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, who guided the team through the identified locations. This initiative is part of the Lagos State Government’s broader plan to achieve energy sufficiency and fast-track development within the Ibeju-Lekki Model City.
