ENVIRONMENTAL ENFORCEMENT EXECUTED AT OGUNFAYO, UBA AXIS OF AWOYAYA

In a Concerted efforts to sanitize and decongest the environment from illegal trading and shanties building up along the walkways by the Expressway and streets. The Chief Technical Adviser on the Environment, Mr. Ajumobi Lateef along with the Law enforcement team clamp down on illegal street traders as they enforced operation pushback against illegal trading and shanties building up along the walkways. Recalled that, there has been a formal notification and sensitization previously against such acts by the environmental services team, to traders which has yielded slight desired results, as some of the traders are yet to comply at UBA junction which has led to a reocurrence of environmental encroachment and constraints on access to public walkways. In addition, the environmental services team has observed a fast growing shanty settlement, emanating rapidly at the UBA area which poses a threat to Urban sanitation, Environmental safety and Security threat. Note that Environmental Sustainability is one of the key focus by the Olowa led administration, and the administration will not tolerate any illegal settlements or black spot which could pose as security threats to residents and obstruct free flow of traffic by motorist.
