Officials of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) in collaboration with its energy contractors, CGCC, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on Friday 17th Apri, 2026. The Chairman was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo. The high-level delegation used the opportunity to strengthen institutional collaboration and advance power infrastructure development in the area. Following the courtesy call, the entire entourage proceeded to Ibeju-Agbe community, where they conducted an on-site inspection of the proposed location for a new embedded power station. The facility, once completed, will be fed directly from the Elemoro substation, significantly boosting electricity supply and reliability to residents and businesses across Ibeju-Lekki and its environs. The embedded power station is part of ongoing initiatives aimed at expanding generation capacity closer to consumption points, reducing transmission losses, and addressing the growing energy needs of the rapidly developing Ibeju-Lekki axis. Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, who stood in for the Executive Chairman, welcomed the delegation and assured them of the Local Government’s full support for the initiative, describing it as a major milestone that will accelerate socio-economic growth in the area. The project is expected to commence in the coming months following the completion of necessary technical assessments and stakeholder engagements.
