EDUCATION: HON. OLOWA’S SUPERVISOR FOR EDUCATION VISITS RIVERINE SCHOOLS, COMMISSIONS DIGITAL CLASSROOMS AT ABEGEDE COMMUNITY IN IBEJU-LEKKI.

In a significant move to bridge educational gaps in hard-to-reach areas, the Supervisor for Education and Library Services in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Agbaje Sodiq Olajide, on Wednesday, May 14, 2026, led a monitoring visit to several riverine schools. The highlight of the visit was the official commissioning of a newly built block of three digital classrooms at Community Primary School, Abegede. The project was executed by Destiny Trust Partners, under the leadership of Lawyer Abimbola Ojenike, and named after Aliyah, a pupil of the school. In a thoughtful gesture, the organisation also donated a boat named “Aliyah” to ease transportation challenges faced by students and residents in the riverine community. Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, which drew traditional leaders, parents, School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) members, and other education stakeholders, Hon. Olajide, who represented the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, praised Destiny Trust Partners for their timely intervention. He further disclosed that the Executive Chairman would formally issue a letter of appreciation to the organisation. The delegation proceeded to Anwar-Ul-Islam Primary School, Arapagi, where they inspected existing facilities and engaged with school authorities on pressing needs. The visits underscore Ibeju-Lekki Local Government’s renewed commitment to inclusive education, particularly in riverine communities where infrastructure deficits and accessibility issues have long hindered learning.
