In a significant step towards poverty alleviation and social welfare enhancement, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, under the administration of the dynamic hardworking Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on Monday 10th November, 2025 launched a Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme targeting 4,000 vulnerable households across the community. This initiative, in line with the goals of His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, aims to provide immediate financial relief while promoting sustainable development and family upliftment. The launch event, which held at the Local Government Secretariat in Ibeju-Lekki, was presided over by the Mayor. In his keynote address, Hon. Olowa emphasized the programme's alignment with the broader national vision encapsulated in His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. "This CCT programme is a direct embodiment of the Renewed Hope Agenda's core pillars, empowering the vulnerable, fostering economic inclusion, and building resilient communities," Hon. Olowa stated. The beneficiaries, selected through a rigorous community-based verification process, include low-income families, widows, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups identified as most in need. Each household will receive 100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) disbursed digitally through Fidelity Bank Plc, to minimize leakages and encourage financial literacy. Addressing the gathering of beneficiaries, local leaders, and stakeholders, Hon. Olowa issued a heartfelt plea for responsible stewardship of the funds. "I implore every beneficiary to use these resources wisely, let us turn this support into lasting progress for families and our community." The event featured a documentary with testimonials from select beneficiaries, who expressed profound gratitude and optimism as they stated emphatically that the assistance comes at a time when every kobo counts. This CCT launch is part of a broader slate of interventions by the Ibeju-Lekki LGA, which is designed to support families in the coming months
