As Chief of Staff Presents Fact-Finding Results. The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on 2nd February, 2026 commended the Enumeration Committee for successfully carrying out its mandate with dedication, professionalism, and efficiency. In a meeting at the Exco Chambers following the presentation of the committee's report, Chairman Olowa described the enumeration exercise as a resounding success that has significantly advanced the Local Government's agenda for enhanced community safety and regulation of commercial motorcycle (Okada) operations. "The Enumeration Committee has done a job well done," Chairman Olowa declared. "Your tireless efforts in registering and identifying Okada and Tricycle riders across our communities have laid a strong foundation for better security, accountability, and orderly transport services in Ibeju-Lekki and I am proud of your commitment and results." The compulsory registration exercise, which included issuing identification stickers to compliant operators, was inaugurated in December 2025 and extended into key areas. The initiative aims to curb criminal activities often linked to unregulated commercial transport, promote rider accountability, and foster cooperation between operators, residents, and security agencies. In the course of the meeting, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Mr. Issa Maruf Olayinka, presented the fact-finding results and comprehensive report from the enumeration teams. The findings highlighted high levels of compliance in targeted communities, valuable insights into operational patterns, and recommendations for sustained enforcement and support for law-abiding riders. Mr. Olayinka emphasized that the data gathered will guide future policies, including targeted security measures and potential incentives for registered operators. He called on all Okada and tricycle riders to continue cooperating fully with the Local Government, assuring them of fair treatment and ongoing dialogue.
