The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has held a meeting with the Community Security Officers under the Ibeju-Lekki Community Security and Intelligence Network (CSIN) to acquaint them with their responsibilities, operational duties and expected conduct ahead of their deployment across the various wards.
During the meeting, the Chairman emphasised the importance of discipline, professionalism and strict adherence to the established code of conduct guiding the officers in the discharge of their duties.
The officers were briefed on their operational responsibilities, which include maintaining vigilance within their respective communities, monitoring their surroundings, identifying and reporting suspicious activities, and working closely with the appropriate authorities to promote peace and security.
As part of the deployment structure, 10 officers will be assigned to each ward, with Zonal Commanders responsible for coordinating and supervising operations within designated zones, including the Coastal,Iwerekun and Ibeju zones.
The Chairman also disclosed plans to engage additional consultants and relevant professionals to provide further training for the officers to enhance their capacity and effectiveness.
The officers were further tasked with supporting environmental cleanliness by discouraging indiscriminate dumping of refuse, particularly along the expressway,coastal axis,beach areas and other public spaces.
The meeting underscores the administration’s commitment to strengthening community-based security and ensuring that the CSIN officers are well-informed, disciplined and adequately prepared to carry out their responsibilities across Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.
