The screening exercise for the Ibeju-Lekki Career Accelerator Programme (CAP) commenced today, ushering prospective participants into a six-month intensive training designed to equip young people with practical skills for career and personal development.
Speaking during the screening, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, explained that the exercise was not merely about selecting candidates, but also about orientating them on the importance of the opportunity and what the programme demands.
The Chairman urged applicants to carefully consider whether the programme aligns with their future aspirations and career goals, stressing that the opportunity should not be approached simply for the sake of participating.
He further noted that the six-month programme will be intensive, requiring seriousness, dedication and active participation from those eventually selected.
The programme focuses on five key areas: Digital Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Communication Skills, Financial Education and Professional Growth, providing participants with practical knowledge to help them navigate the world of work, business and career development.
Olowa encouraged the candidates to approach the opportunity with a clear sense of purpose, make the most of the training and see it as a stepping stone towards their long-term aspirations.
