BUILDING SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT:- IBEJU-LEKKI CDC MARKS 2025 COMMUNITY DAY IN GRAND STYLE

The Community Development Committee (CDC) Ibeju-Lekki Chapter yesterday, celebrated its annual Community Day with pomp and purpose, reinforcing unity, accountability, and collective progress under the theme “Building Socio-Economic and Civic Engagement.” The well-attended event, which held at Elemoro Junior High School, featured the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, as the Special Guest of Honour. In his keynote address, the Executive Chairman commended the Community Development Committee (CDC) for its unwavering commitment to grassroots development and pledged continued partnership with community stakeholders to drive infrastructure, youth empowerment, and economic inclusion. "When citizens engage civically, they give voice to their communities. When communities organize socio-economically, they create opportunities that empower families and sustain livelihoods." A major highlight of the occasion was the stewardship report presented by the CDC Chairman, Comrade Jabita Felix Adeboye. In a detailed and transparent speech, the CDC chair outlined landmark achievements within his tenure, including numerous benefits to communities through partnership with the Local Government and Stakeholders. "From road rehabilitation, solar-powered streetlights, transformers, water projects, to improved health centers, our goal has been simple, to make life better for our people", he said. Hon. Mojeed Fatai Adebola, Chief Whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly, appreciated the CDC as the partnership with his office has bore fruits of infrastructural development in the Local Government. Chairman, Lagos Advisory Council for the CDC, Dr. Azeez Hamzat hailed the comrade Jabita Adeboye led Exco, who have always displayed exceptional brilliance as he also eulogized the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa. Cultural performances, awards of excellence to outstanding community contributors, all formed the basis of the celebration. In his closing remarks, Hon. Olowa announced the donation of a bus to the CDC which elicit joy from all members, comprising Zone A to G. The 2025 Ibeju-Lekki Community Day has been hailed as a resounding success, setting a benchmark for inclusive governance and community-led development. Also present were, the Vice Chairman, Hon.
